NSCN (IM) reaffirms its support to Kashmir ‘cause’

DIMAPUR, JUNE 26 (MExN): The National Socialist Council of Nagalim recently extended its ‘unflinching’ support to the Kashmiri movement. In his address to parliamentarians at the British Parliament in Westminster on June 20 last, NSCN (IM) Chairman Isak Chishi Swu said, “The Nagas reaffirm their unflinching support for the cause of the dominated and oppressed Kashmiri people in their struggle for self determination, which is the fundamental right of the people and nation, big or small. This right should be acknowledged and respected by all.”

“It our unshakable belief that our future lies in our decision to liberate ourselves and not at the mercy of the oppressors. Kashmiri people have the right to decide their own future by themselves and not by others.”

Swu went on to say that the “Union of India as a matter of fact was built from the debris of many kingdoms and nations like Kashmir, which is nothing but forced union and forced marriage. And that, any problem solved against the will of the people is undemocratic and no solution at all.”

“Justice should be done; the decisions and rights of the Kashmiri people should be respected. The International Community should prevail upon India so that Kashmiri people as a nation can exist with respect.” In pursuit for self determination, the Chairman said, “the Kashmiri people should be firm in their mission and have the political will to confront any power that seeks to subjugate them.”
