Dimapur, November 26 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has clarified to the allegation made by the NSCN (K) and stated that the reaction of the Khaplang group in putting the blame on the NSCN (IM) for the ambush on Goa Governor SC Jamir was nothing surprising and that rather it had come on expected line. “But what matters is the fabricating of the story that is far from the logical conviction”, stated an MIP press note received here.
The NSCN (IM) clarified that Lt Col Lanu on the day of the incident was organizing a party in Dimapur to celebrate his promotion to the rank of Lt Colonel and that in the party his junior friend Lieut Yanger was also present. The NSCN (IM) while clarifying however stated that “both of them are from Chungtia village”. The NSCN (IM) also pointed out that there was no point in going into details when it had disclaimed its involvement.
The NSCN (IM) however stated as “interesting to know that 2-inch mortars” were used in the ambush. “Going by the military application of this type of mortar it is normally used to attack against bunker or any such stationary target and not meant for firing at moving target like vehicles. This itself goes to strengthen our claim that the ambush is stage managed and nothing to do with the ground reality”, the NSCN (IM) stated adding that the Indian security forces will naturally put the blame on the NSCN (IM).
The NSCN (IM) likewise termed as unfortunate that “Jamir chose the timing of the pre-plan ambush to smear the NSCN’s name again as going against peace initiative”. “But it is the stand and appeal of the NSCN to make it very loud and clear to read and analyze the logic of the blame against NSCN by Khaplang group”.
