Dimapur, May 17 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has rejected and condemned the allegations made in a press statement issued by the Kuki Students’ Organisation Delhi & NCR on May 16 concerning the situation in Manipur.
A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) described the allegations as “reckless, unverified, politically motivated,” and alleged that the statement was intended to provoke communal mistrust and deepen tensions among communities affected by the ongoing unrest in Manipur.
It denied any association with “terrorism, unlawful armed activities, or organised criminal operations,” and further rejected what it termed as “false and malicious claims intended to demonise entire communities through sweeping accusations.”
The NSCN (IM) further accused the student body of deliberately distorting facts for “political propaganda and public manipulation.”
Expressing concern over the use of “sensitive incidents, communal emotions, and national security concerns for divisive objectives,” the NSCN (IM) stated that public platforms and student organisations should act responsibly and uphold “peace, moral values, and factual integrity.”
It further stated that “no individual or organisation has the authority to pronounce guilt without due process of law,” adding that allegations against communities and groups without “conclusive judicial determination” amount to defamation and incitement.
The NSCN (IM) cautioned against the continued circulation of what it described as “false, defamatory, communal, and inflammatory statements,” stating that any repetition could compel “appropriate legal, constitutional, and administrative actions under applicable national azha.”
It also appealed to Indian authorities, civil society organisations, student bodies, and the media to avoid “one-sided narratives” and work collectively toward justice, peace, and stability.
