NSCN (IM) responds to press report

Apropos to the press reportage dated 6th April 2014, accusing the NSCN/GPRN of assaulting NPF workers of lower Chinhan village, Tirap district on 6th of April, 2014 in some local dailies; we are clear that any person/group having connection with Khaplang  gang and the Assam Rifles do not represent Nagas interest. After thorough enquiry and investigation to the allegation made by NPF we are highlighting the following findings to remove the misreporting and misunderstanding in the future:

1. The incident in question that happened at Sanliam Village was not in any manner related to the current election flavour but it was a matter of some persons claiming to be NPF and Congress workers from another village known as Chinhan Village who were detained for security reasons.

2. It is well known that the supporter’s of Phawang Lowang, NPF Candidate, was transporting Khaplang gang from village to village for election campaign. For instance, we were ambushed at Longliang village on 4th April, 2014 by the Khaplang gang but fled as they were outmanoeuvred by our soldiers.

3. It has come to our knowledge that Assam Rifles and khaplang are hand in glove intimidating the surrounding villages to vote for Phawang Lowang.

4. It is also a fact that Phawang Lowang is having a secret understanding with Terong, Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA) who is having an “open tie-up” with the Khaplang gang patronized by one Johny claiming to be the Revenue Kilonser of Khaplang gang.
