NSCN (IM) Steering Executive Member Pholang Konyak no more

Dimapur, July 11 (MExN): Pholang Konyak, a Steering Executive Member of NSCN (IM) passed away today at Civil Hospital, Mon District after a prolonged illness. 

According to NSCN (IM), late Pholang joined the national service in 1978 and ‘served the Nation till the last moment of his life.’

He was a ‘dedicated man who loved Naga Nation and displayed his patriotic spirit till his last breath,’ Convener, Steering Committee NASCN (IM), Ashiho Asoumai stated in a condolence note.  

The void created by his demise will be difficult to fill in and  the NSCN expresses heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and his close friends, he said.

 “It is our prayer the God will take care of them and comfort them at this hour of grief. May the almighty God grant peaceful rest to the departed soul,” he added in the condolence note addressed to late Pholang’s wife, Wanpo Konyak.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Naga National Workers’ Union (ENNWU) of the NSCN (IM) has also mourned the demise of an honest and dedicated person.

Late Pholang was an honest and dedicated person who stood firm to the Naga National cause till his last breathes and it is a great loss to the Naga Nations in general and Eastern Nagas in particular, stated a condolences message from CLM and Convener ENNWU, Moba Chang. “The void created by his untimely demise will be hard to fill in the days to come,” he said. 

The ENNWU conveys our heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members in this time of sorrow. And we also pray that our Almighty God will grant solace to the departed soul, he added.
