Dimapur, March 13 (MExN): Taking cognizance of the prevailing situation in and around Dimapur in regard to the money lending business, the Central Administrative Officer, Union Territory (CAO, UT) of the NSCN (IM) has issued a strict warning to all unregistered societies/individuals to immediately desist from indulging in the same “or else face the consequence with stringent action as per the Ahza of the NSCN/GPRN”.
A press release from the Regional Judiciary Board, UT, NSCN (IM) pointed to the many unregistered societies/individuals indulging in unauthorized/illegal money lending business by charging high interest percentage and stated that properties of many Naga brothers and sisters have fallen or been taken away by “those self centred” society/individual. “This is purely a crime against humanity and also the root of divisions amongst our Naga society,” the UT NSCN (IM) maintained.
The CAO, UT also directed all registered money lending societies to fix their interest rate below 5%. “If any society(s) found practicing the said business beyond the prescribed rate, appropriate action shall be initiated against the defaulter,” the UT, NSCN (IM) warned.
In addition, the CAO, UT has once again warned the Revenue Officer, DC Office Dimapur (issuing authority of land patta) to immediately stop issuing multiple pattas against the same plot.
Many innocent citizens have been cheated due to easy access in getting multiple pattas, the UT pointed out adding, and this has created a lot of hardships for both the civil court and the NSCN/GPRN in settling such cases.
Erring officials found indulging in the same in future will be booked on forgery case and befitting action will be initiated, the UT NSCN (IM) further warned.
The UT, NSCN (IM) further informed that all the above mentioned directives will come into effect from the date of publication of the press release.
