NSCN (IM) USR impose total ban on illicit drugs, substance

Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) United Sangtam Region (USR) has expressed pain to see the social menace of substance abuse and use of alcohol and also the neglect of government officials in attending their office. “This is something USR has decided not to remain silent but to start showing action in right earnest,” Likhumse Sangtam, CAO, GPRN stated in a press release.
“Henceforth, there will be total ban on selling of illicit drugs or substance in the area falling within the jurisdiction of USR, GPRN. No shops other than pharmacies will be allowed to open on Sunday,” it stated.

USR has also noted the irregular government officials within USR that have given many inconveniences to the public, it stated. “Most of the time officials were not found attending their official duties. Such irresponsible manner of holding official posts in government departments without least concern for the people they are expected to serve and for which they are paid for, USR will not allow this nuisance to continue,” Sangtam stated.
“This statement should be considered as a warning and anyone not obeying shall be penalized accordingly,” it added.
