DIMAPUR: A three member Ao Senden delegation met top NSCN (K) leaders at Mon town on October 26 and 27 in an attempt to remove the misunderstanding that had cropped up following the August 24, 2003 incident at Mokokchung town in which an innocent student was killed.

The closed door meeting took place at the NSCN (K) Monitoring Cell Office and was attended by senior Kilonser AZ Jami, Education Kilonser Ngampan Konyak, Deputy Kilonser Seochem Sangtam and Home Secretary Hokato Vusshe. The 3 member Ao Senden team consisted on its President Bendang, Col Aomari who is an ex-UG and Bendang Nuken.

Speaking to The Morung Express over telephone Ao Senden President described the meeting as a good beginning to resolve all grievances with the NSCN (K). Bendang said the Ao Senden had no ill feeling towards any group and only wanted to clear the air surrounding the misunderstanding prevailing within the NSCN (K) towards the Aos.

It may be mentioned that the NSCN (K) had constituted a three member Peace Committee consisting of Ngampan Konyak as Convenor and Kughalu Mulatonu and Yamto Yimchunger as members.

The NSCN (K) has reportedly not forwarded any specific demand to the Ao Senden delegation. “They invited us and we only had interaction”, said Bendang.

The Ao Senden will now hold a crucial executive meeting on November 2 to review the latest meeting with the NSCN (K) and decide on its future course of action.
