DIMAPUR, JULY 14 (MExN): The NSCN (Khaplang) has awarded capital punishment to what it described as “one extortionist” with a name Tohoshe Awomi of Hoito village. A press note from the MIP informed that “bundles of forged demand notes, letterheads and receipts bearing NSCN (K) were found in his possession. According to the MIP note, it has also been discovered that the extortionist since the NSCN split in 2011 have been engaged in collecting money in and around Dimapur till his apprehension. Meanwhile Newmai News Network adds that Tohoshe was shot dead by suspected Khaplang group of the NSCN on Saturday afternoon near Dimapur. He was an Under Secretary (Finance) in the GPRN/NSCN. He was reportedly abducted from Eros Lane area in the heart of Dimapur and killed at Kukidolong, off Dimapur at around 3 pm on Saturday. Meanwhile, following the incident, the tension has heightened and the security has been put on alert.
