Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): An alleged NSCN (K) cadre was arrested today by the troops of 35 Assam Rifles in Mon Town, an AR press note informed. The cadre was apprehended during a search operation based on specific information about likely "execution of sabotage activities, illegal taxation and extortion cadres in Mon District," it added.
The AR identified the apprehendee as Corporal Nyeiwang Konyak, an active NSCN (K) cadre from Tang Village and presently staying in Mon Town. Plastic explosives of Chinese origin along with two detonators were found in possession of the cadre which were to be used for fabricating improvised explosive devices, it added.
