Dimapur, Jan 10 (MExN): The NSCN-K cautions that the Nagas be “alive” to any “radioactive fallout” from what it stated, is the “cloistered talks” taking place between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India. There might be a potent danger of subversion for the Nagas, it observes.
“We must also be alive against any radioactive fallout from the cloistered talks behind closed doors taking place between I-K and GOI which will poison our national health” stated the NSCN-K in a note issued through its member Ame Konyak. Beneath the cover and garb of talks for solution to Naga problems there may lurk a potent and permanent danger of subversion for the Nagas, it warns. “But thanks to NSCN (K), it will always hold its own ground and stick to its gun against any subversive threats from anywhere and anyone. Despite road blocks on the way, it will push forward the cause of Naga nation” it asserted.
The organization reminds that it is always the will of the people that makes a people a nation. “as a true Naga it should be always borne in mind that it is the will of the people to live together under conditions of cultural and spiritual unity that makes a nation; a culture shaken by terrorist policies, ethnic pride and prejudice, tribalism and vile nationalism will take us to nowhere but to doom and chaos” it pointed out while reminding of the responsibility of every Naga citizen to contribute “a mite” towards finding a concrete solution to “the real problems, but not terrorism”.
The NSCN-K also calls for deep introspection with a New Year onset and that this should be taken as an opportunity to determine a new thought, deed and action. It also noted that year 2006 was eventful “in terms of issues”. “…issues such as the quite notice issued on Tangkhuls, affiliation of schools from the hill districts of Manipur to NBSE, resurgence of factional clash and violence etc. that has come to the surface hogging the limelight. If these issues are of any indication for the year 2007, they are ominous portent” the organization observed with the haplessness that “one cannot help oneself from pointing dismal scenario for the year in question”. In this backdrop of fear, confusion and apprehensions every concerned Nagas, NGOs, church bodies and the government should wake up to the reality and realize that rationality must be built, it stated. “If rationality is at all the criterion, it is the Nagaland, the sheet anchor of our hopes and aspirations” the note stated.
