Dimapur, August 15 (MExN): The NSCN-K (Khango) on August 14 announced the termination of ‘Sergeant’ Moakaba Aier from active national service with the Naga army, effective immediately, due to his involvement in anti-national and anti-social activities.
The sergeant was accused of the alleged rape of a 3-yr-old minor in Saring village under Mokokchung district on August 10.
According to the Ahza (Order) released from the Office of the Commander, Western Command NSCN-K (Khango), the issue was thoroughly investigated, and his service was terminated due to the “unwarranted incident.”
He was reportedly penalised under the “NSCN Party Discipline Art. 3: Morality Clause (iii),” and the NSCN-K (Khango) further warned all ranks to desist from such “anti-social activity that is against the principles of the NSCN/GPRN” in the future.
Involvement in such a “ghastly act” would be met with the “severest punishment” according to the gravity of the committed crime, it stated.
Meanwhile, the NSCN-K (Khango) unequivocally denounced the “inhuman act” and stated that such a heinous crime against a hapless minor child cannot be tolerated from a nation worker who owes allegiance to the national principles.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Naga Army was alerted to capture the culprit for “capital punishment as per the Yehzabo of the Government.” However, the relatives “rescued him and handed the accused over to the village council, and later the police arrested him,” it added.
The NSCN-K (Khango) also urged the public and relatives to cooperate in “eliminating unscrupulous elements and curbing evil practices in society.”
According to the Mokokchung police, the accused was subsequently arrested and booked under Section 65(2) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita or Indian Justice Code) along with Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
