Directs propagators to leave Naga territory
DIMAPUR, MARCH 3 (MExN): The NSCN-K (Niki) said that it will not allow external elements from corrupting the Naga traditional and religious values. Reacting to a recent LGBTQ conclave in Dimapur, it termed the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer as alien concept and prevented from propagating.
The Naga Political Group, in a press release, issued through its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP) on March 3, claimed that the cultures and practices of the outside world have time and again attempted to promote “unhealthy behaviour” in the Naga society contradicting the moral, cultural and religious values.
According to it, the LGBTQ, by trying to gain foothold in the Naga society is not only posing threat to the moral ethics but also against the teachings of Christianity. While stating that it will not allow “external elements to replace our traditional and religious values,” it added that the Naga Christians will not tolerate “people coming from elsewhere trying to destroy the fabric of our society.” It added that the churches should also remain vigilant.
The cautioning was followed by a directive to the people “from elsewhere propagating and encouraging LGBTQ” to leave Naga inhabited areas within 3 days. It said, “The NSCN/GPRN shall not be held responsible for any negative reaction that may occur owing to failure to comply with the directive.”
