Dimapur, July 13 (MExN): The NSCN-K has issued a statement in regard to the killing of one Vikuto Awomi by the NSCN-IM on “trump up charges.” The NSCN-K should not be implicated although it is true that late Vikuto’s body guard joined the NSCN-K fold along with an AK rifle, a note from the NSCN-K “UT-1” stated. However, the same weapon was taken back to “IM the next day by habitual defector Sgt. Hokiye of Vihokhu village who joined us for a brief period after murdering his Tangkhul commander.” This was the only instance where the NSCN-K happened to came across late Vikuto, it stated.
The NSCN-K also termed as “completely senseless any idiocy” the allegation that the victim supplied money and weapon to the NSCN-K. It is learnt that late Vikuto ‘spilled some beans’ in connection to a massive misappropriation of funds to the tune of “several millions by Zarise, Khuyo Hurie, Ashiho and many more top functionaries of IM gang,” it stated. Further Vikuto is also learnt to have been “in possession of hard evidences of money laundering by these gangsters” thus proving himself a big threat to corrupted elements. “It is therefore crystal clear that late Vikuto was eliminated simply to protect themselves from being prosecuted. We have living witness in the person of 2nd Lt. Shekugha, formerly the bodyguard of the victim to give public testimony as to prove either or not, that late Vikuto assisted NSCN in any manner or at any point of time” the NSCN-K stated. The note also mentioned that “sacrilegious to Christianity community is the habitual act of awarding capital punishments to many innocent Nagas at Biblically christened Hebron camp, soon after every ‘ prayer and fast’ by their so called self styled collective leaders.”
The NSCN-K also urged the “land owners” of Hebron camp to cease giving shelter to criminals and desist from using “your God endowed land to commit inhuman and ungodly act of killings, murders and tortures.”
