
Mon, September 15 (MExN): The 33 Assam Rifles today claimed that it apprehended two “Over Ground Workers” (OGW) of NSCN (K) along with Improvised Explosive Device weighing 4 kg during routine patrolling of Lungwa Village bordering Myanmar in Mon District on September 14.
The two were identified as Phongsa Wangsa and Leiwang Wangsa, both residents of Myanmar, the press release from the AR stated. During interrogation, it was revealed that they were tasked by NSCN (K) to carry Improvised Explosive Device and infiltrate along with a group of armed NSCN (K) cadres into Nagaland, the release added.
The AR claimed that the armed NSCN (K) cadres immediately fled towards Myanmar when the OGWs who were leading them were apprehended by the 33 AR. The two apprehended individuals were handed over to the Mon Police Station on September 15.
