NSCN-K questions NBCC’s ‘motives’

Dimapur, Sept 29 (MExN): The NSCN-K has questioned the ‘motives’ of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) in calling for a ‘healing and reconciliation’ initiative and stated that the proposed meeting with NSCN leaders “hangs on uncertainty”. The NSCN-K was reacting to the statement of the NBCC issued through Rev Zhabu Terhuja, General Secretary carried in the local print media. An MIP/GPRN release stated that the statement of the church needs serious consideration. It also took cognizance that the statement had termed the quit notice issued to the Tangkhul community as “unchristian” and “shortsightedness” and “the genocides (including hardcore and long-sufferers in the Naga freedom movement)” committed by the community led by the NSCN-I is “Christianized and farsightedness”. “Therefore, the motives and intentions of NBCC leaders are to be kept under scanner and their (NBCC) proposed meeting with NSCN leaders hangs on uncertainty” added the release.
