NSCN-K regions welcome “unification”

Dimapur, November 29 (MExN): The Angami, Chakhesang, Ao, Lotha, Tisari and “Kuki region” regions of the NSCN-K welcomes the claimed “unification” of the “NSCN.” A joint note received here from the respective regions’ “commander” and “PRO” etc. stated that after 19 years of fratricidal killings, the Nagas have “finally managed to come under one banner – the NSCN – leaving aside the past bitterness.” Stating that it was through the “tireless efforts”  of the Western Sumi Hoho, Western Kukami Hoho, Western Sumi Youth Front, Western Sumi Students’ Union, etc., the note maintained that “It is a very conspicuous and historical chapter in the history of the Naga struggle for freedom.”

The note also expressed regret at what it stated is “few ignorant Nagas misconceiving this effort as being pursued by vested, sectarian interests.” The regions further claimed that “it is neither tribalistic nor guided by any selfish motives as we are experiencing by ourselves.” It appeals to all “to come, witness, experience the spirit of the joy of unification that is happening in reality and to spread the message of peace and unification to the unreached Nagas rather than being misguided by some ignorant groups and individuals who are always averse to Naga unification for their destructive purpose and intent.”
