DIMAPUR, APRIL 17 (MExN): Reacting to the news item today in which the NSCN (IM) said that during the incident at Amiphoto, the NSCN (K) cadres had sought the help of the Assam Rifles, Supervisor, Union Territory- I, Akato Chopy said that the claim was totally false and fabricated. Saying that their boys did not even know where the camp was located, Akato said that the NSCN (IM) had become so used to fighting behind the Indian Army that they thought the NSCN (K) was doing the same. He said that it was in fact the NSCN (IM) who were being allowed to roam around freely around the town in Dimapur and controlling government departments like the Excise and the police, saying that Nagaland Police were now jobless because their work was being done by the NSCN (IM).
Meanwhile in connection with the attack on the Ato Kilonsor Kitovi’s house, Akato said that if the NSCN (IM) did not stop targeting the families, he would begin to do the same to their families. Saying that they were ready to go back to their designated camps as per the wishes of the public since they could not afford not to listen to the people who they were fighting for. However Chopy said they would not go back alone and allow the NSCN(IM) to harass the public, which was not likely to happen since the NSCN(IM) had invested too much in the towns.
