Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): The NSCN (K) today warned against any kind of unauthorized taxation by unscrupulous elements in Dimapur and Kohima and at the same time asked the business community not to entertain such illegal tax collectors. A press note received here from the Secretary of the ‘Ministry of Chaplee Affairs, GPRN’ stated that it has come to the knowledge that some unscrupulous elements are randomly demanding taxes from the business community in the name of the NSCN/GPRN, in this regard, the release asked the concerned businessmen and entrepreneurs not to entertain such taxes. The release stated that all kinds of prescribed revenues and taxation in favor of the NSCN/GPRN’s Central treasury under Kohima and Dimapur districts will be done with due knowledge and authorization of Seochem Sangtam, Dy Kilonser, Chaplee, Inakha Sumi, Secretary of Chaplee and Jack Zhimomi the Deputy Kilonser of Chaplee.
The release further informed that the intended regional taxation under the jurisdiction of the regional government, Angami region, other than prescribed central taxes, as endorsed by the ministry of Chaplee Affairs, GPRN will be done with due authorization from the Supervisor, Angami Region, NSCN (K). The release further warned that any individual or group indulging in any form of tax collection in the name of the NSCN (K) will be doing so at their own risk.
