DIMAPUR, JULY 14 (MExN): The NSCN-K (Yung Aung), on Monday condemned what it described as "multiple drone strikes" allegedly carried out by Indian security forces on July 13, between 2 am and 4 am, targeting ULFA-I and NSCN/GPRN camps in the Hoyat and Pangsau areas of Eastern Nagaland.
In a press statement issued by its MIP, the NSCN-K (YA) expressed grief over the killing of ULFA-I leader Lt Gen Nayan Asom and other senior ULFA leaders in what it termed as a “barbaric attack.”
The organisation further alleged that the Government of India has intensified its “brutalities” against NSCN-K (YA) cadres as well, claiming that killings and military assaults have persisted unabated in recent months.
“If India thinks she can wage an unjust war through sophisticated weapons and technological advantage and maintain her hegemony over the WESEA (Western South East Asia) region, she is greatly mistaken. It simply proves her weakness and imperialistic mentality, not her strength,” the NSCN-K (YA) said.
The group asserted that “India’s ruthless campaign and savage tactics” will not break the spirit of the NSCN-K (YA) nor the ULFA-I.
“We remain resolute in our fight against India’s oppression to the last man standing. Our struggle is based on truth and justice. Every drop of blood will continue to speak the truth and prove that brutal oppression and genocide still exist even in the 21st century,” it said.
“Even though the price is high, we will fight and resist for our history, land and dignity. The victory of the Wesean people is inevitable and justice will be served,” the statement added.
