
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 4 (MExN): The Ceasefire Supervisory Board of the NSCN (R) met with the Chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG), Lt General (Retd) Amarjeet Singh Bedi at the VIP guest house in Kohima on Decemer3.
A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (R) informed that the meeting was held to review and discuss issues pertaining to the Ceasefire Ground Rules (CFGR).
“Both parties viewed that, whatever political negotiation/process is going on between the GoI and NPGs, yet, continuing to upholding whatever necessities or procedures are at hand ought to be maintained too, with 'Peace and Tranquillity' as top most priority which is the need of the hour,” the NSCN (R) informed.
It further stated that both sides also agreed in principle to continue to upholding the sanctity of the laid down CFGR and to keep check on any lapses that may arise from both ends.
Other than any exigency or unprecedented issues that may crop up or necessitated (as far as CFGR is concerned), this could most likely be the last meet/discussion between both parties prior to Christmas and New Year, it was informed.
Meanwhile both parties wished the people a peaceful and merry Christmas' and a joyous and prosperous New Year.
Besides CMFG Chairman and Staff Officer, T Mere, the GoI team was represented by top police officials, brass of the Assam Rifles and CRPF. Meanwhile, tthe NSCN (R) team was led by Dr Amento Chishi, Supervisor along with CFSB Members.
