DIMAPUR, MAY 20 (MExN): The NSCN (R) today issued a statement with regard to the May 15 shooting incident where one person was shot dead in Dimapur. A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (R) claimed that before the incident, the victim identified as one Vivito Zhimomi, “was found collecting taxation in the name of its government claiming as the town commander, and called his name as James, which is against the government.” The NSCN (R) further stated that it had “warned him several times not to collect or involve the tax in the name of NSCN(R).” “But Viveto had failed to comply with its directive. So the NSCN/ GPRN (Reformation) has taken action against him as per Azha of the government,” it added.
