NSCN (R) urges Nagas to ‘bury all differences’

DIMAPUR, MARCH 1 (MExN): The NSCN (R) today called upon Nagas to “bury all our differences and look forward to make our future bright.”

A press note from the MIP of the NSCN (R) questioned “what causes disunity among the Naga today? Is it caused by selfishness and vested interest of other NPGs or is it because of aggressiveness and arrogance of NSCN (IM)?”

It urged all NPGs to “share common thought and mould unison voice to achieve common goal.” The Naga Hoho, FNR, Nagaland State Government and GOI, it stated “should play a constructive role to bring them together.” The NSCN (R) also asked the NSCN (IM) leaders to “act maturely as elder brother of all and come down to the ground minimizing all forms of aggressiveness and arrogance and humble before other brothers to the maximum.” “The NSCN/GPRN-Reformation being the youngest one will always follow the right direction and will sacrifice to any extend if it is for the good of the Nagas. The NSCN/GPRN-Reformation wants to see a successful talk participated by all the stake holders,” it added.

It appealed to all NPGs to prepare for an “inclusive solution by direct involvement rather than criticizing and accusing the parties.” It affirmed that the NSCN (R) is “ready to participate in the present talk to enlarge its scope to level of unified talk. Now, the ball is in the court of both NSCN-IM and GOI.”

Referring to the Framework Agreement, the NSCN (R) worried that “neither NSCN-IM opened its heart to other Naga Brothers, nor the GOI invite other NPGs.” Stating that the GPRN/NSCN and the NNC/FGN opposed the Framework Agreement, it however informed that the NSCN (R) “expressed its supportive opinion after all it was signed between the Nagas and India.”

The NSCN (R) further asked the GPRN/NSCN to stop “attacking and arresting NSCN/GPRN-Reformation workers in and around Dimapur and Kohima… at this juncture where we all must jointly stand to study what carries our solution,” and asked for reasons behind the “attacks.”
