Dimapur, November 8 (MExN): NSCN (R) today stated that Abel Pochury, who “defected” to GPRN/NSCN with NSCN (R)’s cash, has been warned to refund the money within November 15, 2016. According to a press release from MIP, NSCN (R), Abel defected with Rs. 20 lakh of NSCN (R) meant for Ceasefire meeting expenses and collective leaders’ maintenance. The issue was discussed in the meeting of Council of Kilonsers and Abel was warned to refund the money to NSCN (R) Government within November 15 without fail, the release stated. “The failure on the part of Abel will invite serious action to which GPRN/NSCN should not misunderstand as action on their workers.”
The release stated that “NSCN (R) has no bad intentions towards GPRN/NSCN and will continue to co-exist in defense of the Naga Nation in the face of any challenges from any corner collectively but Abel’s case should not disturb our relationship.” Meanwhile, it alleged that Abel had defected from GPRN/NSCN and joined NSCN (R) in 2016 “looking for chances to loot but NSCN/GPRN-Reformation mistakenly took him as good fellow Naga.”
It also maintained that the “most well established and clean Naga Political Movement” is “polluted by few selfish and criminal defectors who after committing some crime or the other used to defect from one organization to another organization mainly to cover up their crimes.” Most of the defectors, NSCN (R) alleged, have committed one crime or the other. “The entire environments have been polluted by such defectors affecting Naga National Politics thereby created and creating the situation of fratricidal among the Nagas. Such criminal people should not be entertained in our clean Naga Politics to ensure peaceful atmosphere in Naga country,” it asserted.
