Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): The NSCN (Reformation) today inducted 4 Kilonsers, 3 Naga Army Officers, and 2 Secretaries. They are Yato (Kilonser), Khampai (Dy. Kilonser), Shaopa (Dy. Kilonser), Khekhaho Newell (Dy. Kilonser), Wechu (Deputy Secretary), and Menlem (Deputy Secretary), informed a press release from MIP, NSCN (R). Also, in a major reshuffle within the Army Wing, the President of NSCN (Reformation) inducted Brig. Jackson as Commander-in-Chief of Naga Army, Brig. Wanglon as GSO-I (Admin), and Brig. Phongjei as Military supervisor.
With regard to defection of its cadres to NSCN (IM), the NSCN (R) stated it has “no problem only on the ground that, they have joined other Naga group hoping that their problem would be solved by the NSCN-IM.” However, it also stated that “their defection is condemnable because it displayed their cheapness and shallowness.”
The NSCN (R) asserted it is ready to withstand any situation and will continue to stand to uphold Naga National Plebiscite of 1951. “In revolution, it is natural to defect or to become reactionary forces and no Naga should wonder for what is happening today. The main reason of defection in our society is lust for position and money which will not help the Nagas including NSCN-IM,” the release stated. The Naga issue, NSCN (R) said, is a unique one and “no faction or individual can override it because the solution to the problem can be found only through collective efforts and any solution if imposed on the Nagas will only inflame the entire situation.”
The NSCN (R) further stated that it had appreciated and supported the August 3 Framework Agreement signed between the NSCN (IM) and Government of India hoping that the NSCN (IM) leaders would widely consult with other NPGs leaders. But, NSCN (IM) has failed to do so till date, it added.
Meanwhile, the NSCN (R) affirmed that it will continue to maintain cordial relationship with all NPGs and formulate collective policy to stand by the glorious history of the Naga Nation.
