NSCN/GPRN (K) disowns ‘unauthorized’ statement

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (K) has taken strong exception to what it termed the “self-styled unauthorized publication of the provocative, insensitive and controversial” statement by one Viputo Chophy “in the guise” of MIP, NSCN/GPRN (K).

The “unauthorized” statement published on Thursday had “implicated Government of India and NNPGs in complete erroneous context for which NSCN/GPRN has awarded forced discharge to Viputo with immediate effect,” stated the MIP of the NSCN/GPRN (K) in a press release today.

The group also clarified that Viputo Chophy joined NSCN/GPRN (K) “only recently and having placed under observation/probation, an official confirmation of his membership in the NSCN has not been accorded.”

Moreover, the group’s MIP informed, “Viputo is in no manner associated with the MIP, GPRN; his statement is therefore disowned in its entirety and be expunged. In this context the NSCN/GPRN has no connection whatsoever.”

‘Personal thoughts’

Meanwhile, a brief press statement from Viputo Chophy read, “Whatever the contents and views expressed, it reflects my personal thoughts and ideas and I do own moral responsibility of such publication, as such the statement is considered null and void.”

He tendered his apology to the Government of India, NNPGs and the NSCN/GPRN (K).
