NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Hokato) clarifies

DIMAPUR, MAY 26 (MExN): The NSC /GPRN (Khango-Hokato) has issued a statement in response to claims by the NSCN (R) that 80 members from NSCN/GPRN (Khango) had joined its fold. 

A press release from the MIP of the NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Hokato) termed these claims as  “completely baseless and unfounded but just a wishful thinking.” It cautioned the NSCN (R) not to “mislead the Nagas by misinterpreting wrong information and making false claims that may provoke the peaceful co- existence in this crucial stage of Naga National Political Movement.” 

It said that contrary to the claims, “After the joining of its senior Kilonser Khekato Kinimi in the go, the number of National workers who joined our Government to strengthen the leadership President Lieut Gen (Rtd) Khango Konyak and Ato Kilonser Hokato Vusshe from NSCN (R) recently has exceeded 60.” “Amongst the members who joined the mainstream include senior Kilonsers, high military officers and secretaries who held prominent portfolios and ministries such as Defence Kilonser, Horne Secretary, Defence Secretary, Ceasefire Secretary and the Naga Army led by Maj Gen Kakiho, GSO-1,” it added. 

Furthermore, the NSCN (Khango-Hokato) stated that former Kilonser Carlos Zhimo and Nilo Zhimo “who claim to be NSCN (K) members have been terminated from active membership from the government.” “The two members who claim to be the Lotha region Chairman and secretary have been under suspension for conniving with adversary for their criminal activities,” it stated. Meanwhile, it added that “a few members defecting to their group from USR, Lotha region and Ao region will not effect in functioning of the governmental activities of the NSCN.”
