Dimapur, June 12 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has issued a counter rejoinder to the IGAR (North) Kohima PRO in regard to the “raids” of Kilo (Home) Secretary residence at Thilixu village on June 3 by 43 Assam Rifles “to clarify its position and address the AR baseless accusation.”
The MIP, NSCN/GPRN (Khango) while clarifying against the PRO statement claimed that “an individual attempted to evade arrest inspection and fled from the scene, is totally ‘false and baseless’ which holds no water.” It stated that the NSCN/ GPRN (Khango) “strongly questioned the Assam Rifles for frisking/checking and conducting MVCP near the vicinity of CFSB, which cannot be tolerated and unacceptable under any circumstances.”
It also alleged the AR of “always targeting NSCN members undermining bilateral Ceasefire Ground Rules and its mechanism as tools without any rhyme and reason, thereby, degrading the sanctity of the bilateral existence and against the Ceasefire mechanism, as agreed by both the parties to maintain congenial atmosphere in the region.”
It further advised the Security Forces to refrain from such activities “immediately so as to avoid any escalation of bilateral existence rather maintain peaceful co-existence between the two entities.” It also “demanded from the competent authority to take necessary remedial and corrective measures against the erring officer at the earliest.”
As sincerely committed to restore peace and tranquillity in Nagaland, the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) had been tirelessly striving for years, “therefore, the Security Forces are advised to desist from such kind of unwarranted actions and adhere to agreed Ceasefire Ground Rules in letter and in spirit,” it added.
