DIMAPUR, JULY 25 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has expressed grief over the demise of Maj Kaito Achumi, son of Ghokheto Achumi of Lochomi village, Zunheboto district, who passed away on July 23 in Dimapur.
In a condolence message issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity, the group said Ino Kaito Achumi was serving as the second-in-command of the Zunheboto Town Command under the Sumi Region with the rank of Major.
In recognition of his service to the Naga nation, the NSCN/GPRN has posthumously elevated him to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Achumi joined the Naga national service in 2006 and served with commitment until his demise, the organisation stated, adding that his contributions would be remembered and recorded in the annals of Naga history.
The NSCN/GPRN paid homage to the “young and dynamic military officer” and conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
