Dimapur, August 2 (MExN): Reiterating commitment to the ‘Naga reconciliation’ process under the initiative of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation, the NSCN/GPRN has stated that its commitment to the FNR stands. A note issued by the group’s MIP has also made public a letter from Dr. Wati Aier, convenor of the FNR written to Rh. Raising, ‘kilo kilonser’ of ‘Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim’, dated July 20, 2010.
According to the letter addressed to the NSCN/GPRN the FNR’s convenor stated that “notwithstanding the July 15th, 2010 joint declaration by the FGN/NNC and the GPRN/NSCN the meeting at Monyakshu was without the knowledge of the FNR”.
The letter also stated that the FNR remained steadfast to the Covenant of Reconciliation which read: “We hereby solemnly commit before God to offer ourselves to Naga Reconciliation and Forgiveness based on the historical and political rights of the Nagas”. “In juxtaposition, the FNR also remains faithful to our position that reconciliation is not about merging and emerging … while reconciliation is occurring, each organization remain in its post without being disturbed”, stated the letter from the FNR’s convenor. It also made reference to the booklet ‘A Common Journey of Hope’, page 14, 2008.
The FNR letter to the NSCN/GPRN also mentioned that with the support and cooperation of the Naga people and the signatories of the Covenant of Reconciliation, it had achieved significant progress and that the FNR would remain committed to continue to work together in this spirit of love, non-violence, peace and respect to “resolve outstanding issues among us” (Covenant of Reconciliation).
“The FNR with the continued support of the signatories of the solemn-historic Covenant of Reconciliation is committed to transcending present contexts towards the political and historical rights of Nagahood. For this, the FNR will seek the continual support of all”, ended the letter from the FNR Convenor.
