Dimapur, May 23 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department held a one day school awareness programme at Hollotoli Higher Secondary School Dimapur on May 20.
Resource persons for the programme included. Khrolo-u Koza and Mrs. Keren Rose who spoke on the topics Disaster Management Plan for schools, Do’s and Don’ts on earthquake, fire and Structure of NSDMA. Thungbemo Patton, EAC Chumukedima attended the programme on behalf of the District Disaster Management Authority.
Demonstration on basic first aid was conducted by personnel from the Civil Defence & Home Guards.
The personnel also surveyed the school building and identified ‘safe zones’ and ‘exit routes’ for the school. Later an evacuation drill on earthquake was also conducted. Pamphlets and other IEC materials were also distributed during the programme.
