NSDMA interacts with Mon Dist Disaster Management Authority

Mon, February 9 (DIPR): Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) led by its Secretary Khrienuo Metha visited Mon district and had a ‘meeting and interaction’ session with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Mon on February 8 at DC's conference hall.  

In her address, Krienuo Metha said that the purpose of the visit to all the district head quarters is to know the contribution and management of the DDMA, and also to learn the status and the needs of the DDMA in the district level. She informed that the meeting would enable the NSDMA to plan all policies and program as per the needs and requirement of the DDMA in the district level. She urged the DDMA to be ready 24×7 to respond to any disaster in the district.   Johnny Kongmei, OSD also shared and interacted with the DDMA members and briefed on the agendas of the day. He informed that 30 personnel from Home Guard & Civil Defense have been trained and stationed at Mon to impart training particularly on disasters.  The ADC, Mon who is also the Nodal Officer of the DDMA, Mon informed the NSDMA team about frequent disaster like outbreak of fire and landslides that damage crops and causes communication and transportation problems in the district. He informed that District Emergency Operation Center is active and functional. He reported that separate cell exclusively for DDMA had also been allotted at DC office. He presented overall activities of the DDMA, Mon.   Khrienuo Metha Secretary NSDMA also flagged off the mobile bio metric registration bus at DC office. The mobile bio metric camp will be held from February 8 to 14 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at local football ground, Mon. The NSDMA team also visited Tanlao ward where frequent landslide occurred annually.   Some of the agendas discussed during the meeting were: •    Guidelines on constitution and administration of DDMA •    State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and its functions at the district •    Software Defined Radio (SDR) •    District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) •    Administration of State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) •    Submission of Utilization Certificate and its Status •    Updation of the District Disaster Management Plan •    Updation of VDMA/VDMCC and its members •    Updation of Indian Disaster Resources Network (IDRN)
