Kohima, March 29 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has convened a monsoon preparedness meeting on April 17 at 11:00 am in the office of the Chief Minister Secretariat. A press release issued by Temjen Toy, IAS Chief Secretary informed that the meeting is being convened under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister and Chairman, NSDMA to review the status of public infrastructure and to assess public utilities such as bridges, culverts, drainage etc, before the onset of monsoon. All the technical departments who are maintaining the community assets are requested to come with the updated status report of the public utilities. The proforma for the periodical inspection of public utilities as issued earlier by the NSDMA, Home department letter dated July 18, 2017. All concerned technical departments are requested to come with any other necessary information to be discussed during the meeting. “The meeting is imperative to take measures towards Disaster Risk Reduction and prevention,” the notice added.
