NSDMA provide relief money to affected villagers

Chuchuyimlang, May 9 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) on May 9 provided relief money to the different villagers affected by the May 1, 2016 cyclonic storm that lashed Mokokchung district that affected many villages.  

The NSDMA distributed money to all the affected villagers in close coordination with the district administration. In Chuchuyimlang EAC block, the NSDMA officials in coordination with EAC Meyazüngba and village and town councils distributed the relief money to the affected villagers.  

The NSDMA categorized the beneficiaries whose properties were damaged into three categories – Totally damaged, severely damaged and partially damaged categories. The relief money was distributed “as per the norms of the Government of India.”  

In the Chuchuyimlang EAC block alone – which covers seven villages and three townships – the May 1, 2016 affected 316 citizens.  

The NSDMA will be providing relief money to the affected villagers in the Kubulong EAC block too. This second phase of relief work by the government; the first one was the immediate relief given right after the May 1 natural calamity.  

Meanwhile, different village council members and the beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to the state government and the NSDMA under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, TR Zeliang for understanding the plight of the victims and providing the relief money in a timely manner.
