NSDMA seeks public support for NEPEx

Kohima, November 16 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department has informed that a siren will be triggered from the PHQ at 9:03 am, in connection with the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx), a State-wide mega mock exercise on November 17. Sirens will also be used by emergency vehicles participating in the drill, it informed while requesting the public not to panic but to cooperate for smooth conduct of the exercise.

The NEPEx is an annual exercise conducted across the state. This year it will be conducted on an earthquake scenario with a magnitude of 8.7 on the Richter scale. This exercise is being carried out to test the capability of the State in responding and also managing any mega disaster, stated a press release from Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Lhouchalie Viya.
