NSF cautions against false scholarship claims

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 5 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today made clear that only eligible and financially needy students should avail scholarship benefits and that any false claim by the students’ community is a direct practise of corruption.


A press note from the NSF informed that it would launch a campaign under the slogan ‘No false claim on Scholarship,’ whereby, the Federation invites from the students’ community to sign a pledge on ’No to Corruption.’ In this regard an extensive campaign will be launched across Nagaland where Students and the administrations of various institutions are informed to render their full cooperation for the success of the campaign, the NSF said.


It further directed students to adhere to the criteria laid down by the government and those whose parent’s income from all sources exceed Rs 2.50 Lakh per annum not to apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship. It also cautioned students against producing false income affidavits to claim scholarship benefits. The NSF further directed its federating units to facilitate the financially needy and government school students in applying for pre-matric scholarship scheme.


It was also notified that the Post-Matric Scholarship (ST), Nagaland Merit & Research Scholarship and NEC-Stipend & Book Grant for the academic session 2019-2020 has been live since July 23 and will continue till September 30. Meanwhile, the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Tribe students studying in class IX and X will go live by August 1 till September 30 via Common Scholarship Portal, Government of Nagaland, under URL https://scholarship.nagaland.gov.in .
