Kohima, March 22 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) held a symbolic prayer programme at Parashen, Rengma Region to commemorate Naga National Flag Hoisting Day on March 22.
It may be mentioned that the first Naga National Flag was hoisted at this historic site, Parashen located in Rengma region on March 22, 1956, stated an update received here.
The prayer programme was chaired by Benjong Longchar, Secretary Social & Culture NSF, and commenced with an invocation prayer led by Rite Khutsoh, former Speaker NSF, it stated.
NSF President, Kegwayhun Tep hoisted the Naga National Flag and delivered a brief message on the significance of the event. A minute of silence was observed in honour of the past leaders who have contributed and sacrificed towards the cause of the Naga people. Short messages were delivered by Atilo Kent, Vice President Rengma Selo Zi, and Ajo Tsela, President Rengma Students’ Union and culminated with mass prayer.
The programme was attended by NSF officials, senior leaders of NSF along with officials from various federating units of NSF and representatives from Rengma Selo Zi.
