DIMAPUR, JULY 27 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has condemned the killing of Obed Kamei on July 20 at Dailong village under Tamenlong district allegedly by armed miscreants.
In a condemnation note, the Federation censured the cowardly act(s) perpetrated by few anti-social elements which “threatens the fabric of Naga brotherhood and peaceful co-existence within the Naga family.”
“The costly earned peace and stability in the Naga homeland cannot be held hostage because of some few individuals with vested interests and extremist ideologies which are above rule of law and have no standing in today’s civilized society,” it stated.
The Federation demanded befitting actions against the perpetrators’ of the dastardly act by the concerned authorities and that justice is served to the victim immediately.
Further, the Federation made an appeal for peace and unity across the Naga homeland and to be wary of the unprecedented times and situation which is unfolding before our very doorsteps.
“We appeal for better sense to prevail, respect for each other's history and basic human rights, where the Naga homeland and the entire region will thrive in harmony and peaceful co-existence,” it added.
