Condemns high-handedness of AR
Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today strongly condemned the high handedness of 7 Assam Rifles (AR) at Kiphire town lead by Asstt. Commandant Vinod on April 28 and demanded an “unconditional apology” from the officer. It further urged the authority of the Assam Rifles to award exemplary punishment to the officer and jawans involved in the mayhem.
In a statement issued by its President and Assistant General Secretary, the NSF stated that “Nagas can no longer tolerate such reckless and inhuman acts perpetrated upon the people, therefore it is time that, either the Assam Rifles mend their behaviors and attitude or Nagas teach them a befitting lesson.”
The NSF said, “at a time when bitter incidents where the Assam Rifles have buried and burnt the innocent Nagas alive is still vivid in the minds of every Naga, it is so unbecoming and provocating on the part of the ARs to still continue to harassing and torturing the innocent people without any reason.” It stated that such inhuman atrocities “can never be erased nor forgiven.”
The NSF urged the Naga public to be “prepared, mentally and physically to face any consequence and to stand firm in our mission to cleanse the mess created by the Assam Rifles once and for all.” It further stated that “no amount of pressure or threat can defeat our struggle for a righteous cause.”
