To sign MoU with Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Educational and Welfare Foundation
DIMAPUR, MAY 22 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), in collaboration with Dr. YSR Reddy Educational &Welfare Foundation, is planning to provide free higher technical/medicinal education through government scholarship at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh for Naga students.
Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Educational and Welfare Foundation was established to develop education by giving professional admission to meritorious poor students belonging to ST/SC/OBC and minority communities, free of cost. The NSF informed that it has thoroughly verified all the institutions under this programme and stated that the federation will be signing a MoU with the foundation at the earliest possible time.
The Four-year bachelor degree courses offered for both the technical/medicinal education include Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Aeronautical Engineering and General Nursing Mid-Wifery.
Selected Meritorious students will get the placement in MNR Group of Institutions, Bandari Srinivas Institute of Technology, PRRM Engineering College, Samskruti College of Engineering & Technology and Rajamahendra College of Engineering.
To be eligible for the scholarship, the income of parents must be below Rs 2.50 Lakhs and the students should have a minimum of 45% marks in the last exam (Class 12). The students will also be required to maintain 75% attendance and pass in every academic semester.
NSF informed that interested students can download the application form from www.ysrewf.in or collect it from the NSF office or any NSF Federating Units or Subordinate bodies (DNSU, ANSAM and Diphupar Naga Students’ Union ) from May 26 onwards. The filled applications need to be submitted to the NSF office on or before June 2. Submission of application form through courier will also be accepted, it was stated. Application submitted after June 2 will not be entertained, the NSF said.
It informed that after scrutiny of the documents, NSF will generate a merit list based on marks secured in class 12 and publish the list in the local media on June 6. Counseling of selected students by the management of the foundation will be done on June 9 and 10. NSF stated that the place and time of counseling will be informed to the students at an appropriate time through the local dailies. On the day of counseling, students will receive a temporary selection letter.
After receiving the selection letter, students need to prepare challan of Admission Fees by depositing Rs. 25,000 to the State Bank of India. Students will get two days to prepare challans in the SBI. The Challan copy will be available at www.ysrewf.in & and can be collected at the time of counseling.
On admission, NSF informed that students need to submit original documents and YSREWF copy journal to the NSF office and collect receipts from the same office.
For hostel fee submission, the NSF informed that students will receive about one and a half months time to arrange hostels (to prepare challan) for first year, which is refundable. The challans will have to be submitted to the NSF office on July 23 and 24. Separate hostels for Naga students (boys & girls) with a hostel warden and cooks, appointed by NSF, will be provided by the management.
It further informed that students would have to join their respective institutions in the first week of September 2014. Hostel seat allotment will be provided before leaving their homes.
