
KOHIMA, MAY 30 (MExN): The Naga Student Federation today said that it would put up multi-dimensional fights against age tampering, corruption, nepotism and favoritism in the recruitment policy of the government.
At a press conference held here today NSF said that it has formed a committee to fight against the anomalies in the government set up. The NSF will prioritize its fight against the age old menace of age tampering that is blocking the promotional opportunity to others and besides, which has created lot of corruption in the system.
NSF also questioned over the fact that about 5% of posts have been reserved for the physically challenged in the NPSC exam, but how many have been benefited out of it.
The student body appealed to all the departments to shun nepotism, favoritism and corruption in the day today functioning of the government.
Another area the student body intends to include in its campaign is the reservation quota for the backward tribes in the NPSC exam. NSF said that reservation should be centralized and should be applied to the departments. “There should be equal distribution of reserved quota in all the departments, otherwise it is a farce”, said the committee member. It also further demanded that all employment opportunities should be notified through employment exchange, so as to avoid any manipulation.
NSF also said that there is urgent need to change in the recruitment policy of the Government. “Recruitment policy should be changed, competent people should be given chance to serve so as to enhance the efficiency of the government functioning create common vacancy and give opportunity to competent people to compete”, tells the students’ body to the government.
Asserting that ministerial staff and ad hoc and contract employees have ruined the functioning of the state government, NSF also further said that nepotism, favouritism and corruption has become the business of those in the helm of affair.
A committee, which was constituted during the last Federal Assembly, and is yet to be christened, said that the basic idea of the campaign is to clean the system in the public establishment.
The committee also said that there are many individual cases, but for the start, the campaign will be confined to only selected departments. However, the NSF cautioned that, “We may also go to the extent of filing a litigation against the adamant individuals.”
