Kohima, April 27 (MExN): All students planning to return to Nagaland on resumption of commercial flight services are advised to postpone their return for the time being, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) urged in a press release today.
The NSF issued the advisory in the backdrop of the COVID-19 quarantine protocol currently in place for any returnee to the state.
“For those whose return is unavoidable, they may take note that upon landing at Dimapur airport every returnee will be medically screened, and thereafter taken in vehicles arranged by NST to the institutional observation centres,” stated the release issued by its President Ninoto Avomi.
Several locations in Dimapur and Kohima are designated as observation centres for COVID-19 by the state government.
“All returnees must note the inconveniences they might face as most of the villages/colonies are currently barricaded and maintaining complete lockdown,” it added.
The NSF President is also a Member of the Empowered Group for Institution Quarantine and other Protocol of people Returning to the State.
In addition, the Federation informed that following measures have to be adopted by returnees as per protocol:
• Mandatorily undergo minimum 14 days quarantine
• 14 days home observation after the quarantine
• All travellers entering Nagaland have to download the ‘SELF DECLARATION APP’ and fill up the self declaration form. The app is available on Google play store. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tattvafoundation.ncovid)
• The print out of the same shall be mandatorily presented at the Airport counter upon arrival. Non-compliance is a punishable offence under Epidemic Disease Act 1897.
