Kohima witnessed an exciting day of football today as three matches unfolded in the ongoing NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy, showcasing the talents of local teams.
In the opening match, Jakhama Youth Organization (in yellow) dominated Youngsters FC (in white) with an impressive scoreline of 6-0. The scoring spree began with Kesuhoto Zao finding the net in the 8th minute, followed by Vikuto Tase in the 24th minute.
Keneileho Khatso showcased his prowess by scoring twice in quick succession at the 43rd and 48th minutes, while Kulse Zhotso rounded off the tally with two goals in the 46th and 54th minutes. Youngsters FC faced a setback as Neihetuo received a caution in the 46th minute. Keneileho Khatso was named Player of the Match, with the award presented by Eno Vizokho Zashümo, convenor of the 24th NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy.
The second match featured Sechü Zubza FC (in dark blue) against Magdaline Coaching FC (in sky blue), concluding with a 4-2 victory for Sechü Zubza. Rhitsо Mero was the star of the match, scoring four goals at the 15th, 22nd, 26th, and 64th minutes.
Nasal Pucho and Dupisa Pucho of Magdaline Coaching scored in the 5th and 7th minutes, respectively. Magdaline faced a caution as Kekhruvo Sachü Jr. was cautioned in the 57th minute. Rhitsо Mero earned the Player of the Match title, with the accolade presented by Eno Teisovi Thorie, former President of the Southern Angami Students’ Union.
The final match of the day saw F4C Academy (in black) overpower Kigwema Students’ Union (in blue) with a commanding 4-0 victory. Kishore opened the scoring in the 36th minute, followed by Thothong, who scored twice at the 36th and 59th minutes, with Lungin adding another goal in the 40th minute. Paolenmang from F4C Academy was awarded Player of the Match, with the award presented by Eno Visako Rino, President of the Angami Students’ Union and councillor of Medziphema Town Council.
