Red Scars FC and Asufü Christian Institute today secured their places in the quarter-finals after winning their respective pre-quarter-final matches at the ongoing 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2024 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
In the first pre-quarter-final, defending champions Red Scars FC triumphed over Seithekema FC with a score of 3-1.
Asito Krose opened the account for Red Scars in the 18th minute while Hautinsen Kipgen and Gurmeet Singh added a goal each in the 52nd and 84th minute respectively.
Baoringdao Bodo netted the lone goal for Seithekema in the 26th minute.
Rakeveiche of Red Scars, Ahmmed Bolagun and Railubo of Seithekiema were cautioned with yellow card.
Red Scars’ Gurmeet Singh bagged the ‘Man of the Match’ title and honoured by Ketholezo Rino, Treasurer, Angami Students’ Union.
Meanwhile, Asufü Christian Institute secured a 1-0 victory against Pehlum Lamhil Lawn Academy in the second pre-quarter-final. The decisive goal was scored by Ngararsing Raikhan in the 9th minute.
Mashungam of Asufü Christian Institute, Thangthenmang, Ginminthang and Lungougin of Pehlum Lamhil Lawn Academy were cautioned with yellow card.
For his decisive goal Ngararsing was declared as the Man of the Match and honoured by Kezhazer Angami, former president, Angami Students’ Union.
