Friends United New Market and Kohima Science College Jotsoma today registered wins in their respective matches at the ongoing 19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2018 here at Kohima Local Ground under the theme ‘Goal for Peace.’
In the first match, Friends United downed Thurutsuswumi SU Phek 5-1.
Gideon fetched a hattrick for Friends United in the 15th, 30th and 61st minute. Thejaselie Terhiija added two more goal for the team in the 28th and 81st minute.
A lone goal for Thurutsuswumi SU came through the boot of Verazo in the 32nd minute. Friends United will now clash with Monsang SU, Manipur on October 1.
Kohima Science College overpowered Lower Jail YO 4-2 via tie-breaker in the second match of the day.
The match witnessed 1-1 draw within the regulation playing time.
Keleto Zutso netted a goal for Kohima Science College in the 40th minute while the equalizer for Lower Jail YO came through Sancho in 76th minute.
Kohima Science College will next face Tiema-Khe Kidima on October 2.
