NSF on SC ruling

Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) conveys congratulations to the Nagaland government “for seriously pursuing the case of the Nagaland Retirement from Public Services Act, 2009 which was ultimately dismissed by the Supreme Court in favor of the state government.” “This was an Act very dear to which the NSF was fighting for with all sincerity for the past 20 years,” the NSF said in a message today. The federation also acknowledges the “contributions and constant guidance of its senior leaders, with whose support the Federation was able to successfully take up the matter with present DAN ministry.” The NSF claimed the entire action was in effort “to evolve a system that could be just, befitting the present day situation of high competition and competency.” “…the implementation of latest Nagaland Retirement Act, in fixing the length of service at 35 years, would definitely create a space for easing the rising volume of unemployment amongst the younger Naga generation,” the NSF said. The state machinery is asked ‘to initiate the process of recruitment in all fairness through open door competition.’ NSF will not be silent against all appointments made through backdoor and unfair channels, the note added.
