NSF to observe 39th Martyrs’ Day in Kohima

KOHIMA, MARCH 18 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) will observe the 39th NSF Martyrs' Day on March 20 at NSF Martyrs' Park in Kohima, starting at 9 AM. The event will honor the sacrifices of two Naga martyrs, Lt. Kekuojalie Sachü of Kohima Village and Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshü of Kigwema Village.

The NSF has extended an invitation to students, youth leaders, well-wishers, and members of the media to attend the ceremony and pay tribute to the fallen individuals whose sacrifices continue to inspire the pursuit of justice, peace, and the rights of the Naga people.

In commemoration of the day, the NSF has directed all its federating units and subordinate bodies to fly their respective flags at half-mast. Additionally, the federation has requested all schools across the Naga homeland to observe a one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs on March 20.

This year’s observance also marks the 25th Anniversary of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy, a sporting event that has symbolized unity and resilience among the Naga youth. During the ceremony, the official trophy for this milestone edition will be unveiled and launched for a tour across the Naga homeland.
