The Naga Students’ Federation appears to be taking a tougher stand on the NPSC ‘wrong answer’ issue as they sounded a warning to the latter to redress the demand of the aggrieved or face severe agitation.
The NSF, addressing the press conference today, said that they have taken up the issue to the chief secretary level, but the NPSC is still adamant in admitting the mistake. The Federation cautioned to take further course of action if the NPSC fails to redress the anomalies in the questions papers.
NSF demanded that the firm hired to set the question paper be black-listed and a professional firm be appointed to do the job. It also demanded that the commission constitute an expert panel to study the wrong questions and answers of the last preliminary examination and that the main examination be deferred beyond the stipulated time, so that the students will have sufficient time to prepare.
NSF said that the demand of the transparency seekers is genuine and urged upon the NPSC to expedite their grievances. NSF also demanded that the erring officials in the SSA should be terminated with immediate effect. It had served an ultimatum to the state government on this issue, which will expire on August 3 next. All contingency appointments in education be stopped and the selection of LDA to lecturers be conducted through NPSC, said the NSF.
