Kohima, November 17 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has urged the State Government to immediately appoint the Chairperson and Members of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), citing prolonged vacancies that it said are disrupting recruitment and affecting civil service aspirants across Nagaland.
In a representation addressed to the Chief Minister, the Federation said the posts of Chairman and Members of the Commission fell vacant on September 13, 2025, and “no appointment has been made to fill these crucial positions till date.” It stated that the resulting vacancy has led to administrative stagnation within the Commission and created “unnecessary hurdles for aspirants, particularly those affected by the upper age limit criteria.”
According to the NSF, the delay has affected the examination calendar and jeopardised the future prospects of numerous candidates. It said the Federation, as “the guardian of the rights, privileges and opportunities of aspiring civil service candidates of the state,” was compelled to draw the attention of the Government to the issue in keeping with its mandate.
The NSF appealed to the Government “for the immediate appointment of NPSC Chairman and Members to ensure the smooth functioning of the Commission while facilitating the timely conduct of examinations and related recruitment processes.”
The Federation expressed hope that the Government would accord priority to the matter “in the larger interest of the student and youth community.”
