Kohima, May 18 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has welcomed the recent notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima directing all area administrative officers to issue instructions to all the village councils and GBs to refrain from issuing scheduled tribe/backward tribe/indigenous inhabitants’ certificates to children of non-Naga fathers as well as non-Naga children adopted by Naga parents.
NSF President, Kegwayhun Tep in a press release stated that the federation welcomes the resolution adopted by the Government of Nagaland vide P&AR Om No. RCBT-5/87 (Pt) Dated Kohima, the 11th June 2012 towards the same.
This is in line with the standing resolution of the NSF that the principle of ‘Nagas by blood and not adoption’ has to be followed while determining who an actual Naga is,” Tep stated.
Further, the federation appealed to all concerned for strict compliance to the said order.
